Cynarina lacrymalis, commonly known as the Diver's Eye Coral or Tear Drop Coral, is a stunning large polyp stony (LPS) coral prized by reef aquarists for its distinctive appearance and relatively hardy nature. This coral features a single large polyp with a vibrant oral disc that can display shades of green, brown, orange, or red, often with contrasting tentacle tips that resemble a teardrop or eye—hence its popular names. Ideal for intermediate to advanced aquarists, Cynarina lacrymalis thrives in moderate lighting and moderate water flow. It prefers a stable reef environment with consistent water parameters, including calcium and alkalinity levels that support coral growth. This coral is generally peaceful but should be given adequate space from neighboring corals, as its sweeper tentacles can extend during feeding.
